Best Wedding Venues in Georgia

Choosing a wedding venue is one of the first decisions you make when you start to plan a wedding. It’s also one of the most important (which is why we usually suggest hiring a wedding planner BEFORE choosing a wedding venue). If you’ve found your way here, we can guess that this probably isn’t the first best wedding venues in Georgia list you’ve encountered. We have tried to do you one better though. As Georgia wedding planners, this list is curated with the absolute best of the best, instead of including every wedding venue within a 100 mile radius. Have a look, get inspired, and when you are ready, contact us. We would love to help turn your vision into a reality!

Yonah Mountain Vineyard

About an hour and a half from Atlanta, you’ll find Yonah Mountain Vineyard. If you’re dreaming of a serene wedding venue in the stunning North Georgia foothills, Yonah Mountain Vineyard has three outdoor wedding ceremony locations to choose from – all with incredible views. After the ceremony, you can take wedding photos throughout the vineyard. When you are ready for your wedding reception, there are three different reception options to choose from (the wine cave is perfect for micro weddings!). If you and your fiancé are wine lovers, there’s hardly a better outdoor wedding venue in all of Georgia!

Meadows at Mossy Creek

If you’re dreaming of the nostalgia of the mountains but want a more modern wedding venue, Meadows at Mossy Creek is one of the best wedding venues in Georgia. This 5000 square feet farmhouse style wedding venue is the perfect place to build your wedding from the ground up. At Borrowed and Blue, we love to build wedding designs that are unique to each couple so as you can imagine, we LOVE a modern venue that allows us to showcase our best work. Meadows at Mossy Creek provides the space and the mountain view, we can help you with the rest.

Barnsley Resort

Treat your guests to the beauty of North Georgia and that traditional southern hospitality, Barnsley Resort is just that. If you have guests coming from out of state, choosing a Georgia wedding venue that has accommodation on site will make your life (and theirs!) a lot easier. Personally, we just swoon a little when we step on the historic property. We aren’t the only ones either – Southern Living named the venue “One of the ‘South’s Best Wedding Venues”.

Swan House

Although the Georgia mountains are stunning, there are times when you need (or want) the comforts and amenities of a city. Swan House is one of the best wedding venues in Atlanta. It’s truly part wedding venue, part historic landmark. Now a historic museum, you can’t get married inside the mansion, but the lawns can accommodate up to 750 guests.

Old Edwards Inn Highlands NC

We couldn’t contain our list to only Georgia wedding venues, when North Carolina is only two ours from Atlanta and offer even more incredible venue options. Like we mentioned at the beginning, we’ve really limited this post to only include our absolute favorites. Old Edwards Inn definitely makes the cut. Old Edwards Inn features farm-to-table dining, rustic decor, and the serenity that the Blue Mountains of North Georgia are known for.

Half Mile Farm Highlands NC

Half Mile Farm is part of the same hospitality group as Old Edwards Inn, and it’s just as wonderful. Half Mile Farm is the perfect wedding venue if you are looking to host a destination wedding weekend fo up to 100 guests. You can buy out the property of 34 rooms and have the entire fourteen acre property to enjoy with your guests. The ceremony location overlooks a beautiful private lake so if you are hoping of a water view, this one’s the perfect choice.

Best Wedding Venues as a Georgia Wedding Planner

Although these are a few of the best wedding venues in Georgia and North Carolina, we believe that no two people are the same, so no two weddings should be either. If you are looking for Georgia wedding planners, you can connect with us here, or learn more about our wedding planning packages here. We would be happy to help you find the perfect venue for your guest list, your budget, and your design tastes. There’s always more to it than you realize.
